GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College's women's tennis team lost a hard-fought 5-4 decision to Ashford University Tuesday at the Charles Benson Bear '39 Recreation and Athletic Center Field House.
 
The Pioneers got singles wins from Shirlene Luk '15 at No. 1 (6-2, 6-1) and Hannah Cook '18 at the second spot (6-3, 7-6). They also won at No. 6 due to forfeit, as well as No. 3 doubles.
 
Grinnell is now 13-8 on the season, while Ashford moved to 15-12.
 
The Pioneers meet Cornell College in the Midwest Conference Tournament semifinals at 11:30 a.m. Friday.
