MOUNT VERNON, Iowa – Facing a fellow unbeaten Midwest Conference team didn't faze the Grinnell College women's tennis squad in the slightest.

The Pioneers opened with a sweep in doubles play and continued to sail from there for an 8-1 victory at Cornell College on Sunday.

With the win, the Pioneers moved to 6-0 in the league and extended their overall winning streak to seven to move to 7-1. Cornell fell to 5-1 in the MWC and 8-2 in all matches.

Judith Fan '19 and
Amelia Cogan '19 posted an 8-3 victory at the top spot and
Megan Jans '19 and
Anushka Joshi '18 combined for an 8-2 win at No. 2.
Lily Hamilton '19 and
Brenda Guan '20 emerged from a thrilling battle at No. 3, winning 9-8.

The Pioneers also came up with wins at Nos. 1 through 5 singles with Fan (7-5, 6-3), Cogan (6-4, 6-0), Jans (6-4, 7-5), Joshi (6-3, 6-0) and Hamilton (6-4, 6-1). Â
