GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College kept its perfect Midwest Conference record intact Saturday with 9-0 wins over Illinois College and Monmouth College at 10th Avenue Courts.

The victories stretched Grinnell's overall win streak this season to five matches.

Grinnell shut out Illinois College in three doubles matches to start the day, with 8-0 wins by the teams of
Judith Fan '19-
Amelia Cogan '19,
Megan Jans '19-
Anushka Joshi '18 and
Lily Hamilton '19-
Brenda Guan '20.

In singles, posting 6-0, 6-0 shutouts were Fan at No. 1, Guan at No. 5 and
Shannon Hautzinger '18 at No. 6. Jans and Hamilton won 6-1, 6-0 at Nos. 2 and 4, while Joshi won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3.

Hautzinger's win was the first singles victory of her collegiate career and clinched the match for the Pioneers.

In the victory over Monmouth, Grinnell got 8-0 doubles wins from Fan-Cogan, Joshi-Jans and
Eden Gregory '19-Hautzinger.

Joshi, Guan and Hautzinger each won 6-0 at Nos. 3, 5 and 6 singles. Fan won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1, Jans posted a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2 and Hamilton was victorious 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4.

The Pioneers, 4-0 in the league and 5-1 in all matches, entertain Knox College at 3 p.m. Sunday in another MWC contest.
