JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Grinnell College remained perfect in Midwest Conference women's tennis play Sunday by blanking Illinois College 9-0.
 
Two-time winners for Grinnell were Milica Cvrkota '21, Amelia Cogan '19, Ali Hickey '21, Abby Nielsen '21 and Anushka Joshi '18. A singles win by Joshi gave her 51 career victories, good for seventh on the Pioneers' all-time leader board.
 
Nielsen posted a 6-0, 6-0 shutout at No. 4 singles for Grinnell. Other winners were Cvrkota (6-2, 6-1), Cogan (6-1, 6-1), Hickey (6-2, 6-1), Joshi (6-3, 6-1) and Brenda Guan '20 (6-2, 6-3).
 
Grinnell won two of the three doubles matches by 8-0 shutouts – Cogan and Cvrkota at No. 1 and Hickey and Nielsen at No. 2. At No. 3, Joshi and Lily Hamilton '19 won 8-1.
 
Grinnell, 5-0 in the league and 7-1 overall, plays at the ITA Regional Championships next weekend.
