GRINNELL, Iowa -  Grinnell College's men's track and field team kicked off its 2019-20 campaign on a strong note Friday night with several good performances at the Pioneer Preview in the Bear Center Field House.
 
Event champs for the Pioneers were Tommy Jacobs '22 in the 200-meter dash (23.82 seconds), Matt Lieberman '21 in the mile (4:38.00), the sprint medley relay team of Kyler Walcher '23, Alexander Hiser '23, Zeke Taylor '22 and Ben Harvey '22 (4:13.09), Nicky Midlash '21 in the pole vault (3.20 meters) and Theo Richter '23 in the shot put and weight throw (8.94 and 7.64 meters, respectively).
 
Hiser also ran 7.43 in the 60, the eighth-fastest time in program history.
