GC men's track and field athletes post stellar performances at Jim Duncan Invitational

Robinson wins 3000-meter steeplechase

Results

DES MOINES, Iowa - Luke Robinson '26 and other Grinnell College men's track and field athletes were stellar on the big stage Friday at the Jim Duncan Invitational.

Competing against several NCAA Division I athletes, several Pioneers posted high finishes including Robinson's victory in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Robinson outdid 13 other runners at Drake Stadium with a time of 9 minutes, 24.83 seconds. That ranks third in program history.

Ben Abelow '28 was second in the 5000 in 14:47.09, which ranks third in GC history, and Jake Bell '27 took seventh in the discus with a toss of 45.82 meters. Ian Clawson '26 was 12th in the hammer with a throw of 49.08 meters, Connor Heagy '26 took 14th in the 1500 in 4:05.35 and Greyson Imm '28 was 15th in the 5000 in 15:29.12. In the 800, Spencer Lyau '29 ran 1:55.54 which is eighth in GC history and fastest for the program since 2015.

Lucas Fadden '26 of Grinnell was competing as an unattached entry, placing second in the 100 in 10.55 and third in the 200 in 21.05.
