Grinnell women's tennis team bounces back from loss to roll over Colorado College 7-2

ORLANDO, Fla. – After dropping a 7-2 decision to Calvin College earlier in the day, Grinnell College's women's tennis team bounced back by turning the tables on Colorado College by the same score Wednesday.
 
The Pioneers improved to 11-4 with the victory and have won seven of their last nine.
 
Grinnell got off to a great start in doubles play against Colorado College, sweeping the Tigers with the duos of Abby Nielsen '21-Judith Fan '19 (8-7), Sara Amano '22-Isabel Green '22 (8-2) and Lily Hamilton '19-Natalie Cook '20 (8-1).
 
In singles, the Pioneers took the Nos. 3 through 6 matches including a 6-0, 6-0 shutout win from Hamilton at No. 4. Other winners were Fan at No. 3 (6-2, 6-0), Amano at No. 5 (6-1, 6-0) and Cook at No. 6 (6-2, 6-0).
 
Earlier in the day against Calvin, the Pioneers got singles wins from Fan at No. 3 (6-4, 0-6, 10-7) and Amano at No. 5 (7-5, 7-6).
 
During the matches, Fan moved up to 14th on Grinnell's career doubles wins list with 49 and is 16th in singles victories with 41. Nielsen moved up to 24th in doubles wins with 36.
 
The Pioneers are back at it Thursday with two matches, facing Hope College and Concordia University.
