GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College's women's tennis team punched its ticket to the Midwest Conference Tournament title match Saturday afternoon with a 9-0 blanking of Illinois College at 10th Avenue Courts.

The Pioneers, who defeated the Lady Blues for the third time this season, improved to 5-0. They will play Lake Forest in the title match. Illinois College finished at 4-10.

Grinnell, which is yet to lose an individual singles or doubles match this year, shot out to a 3-0 lead by sweeping doubles.
Sabrina Tang '23 and
Ioanna Giannakou '24 won by an 8-0 shutout at No. 2, while
Irene Agusti '24 and
Mira Manchanda '24 won 8-3 at the top spot and
Josephine Blumenthal '23 and
Mamie Sevier '23 won at No. 3 by the same score.

The Pioneers posted 6-0, 6-0 singles shutouts with Tang at No. 1, Agusti at No. 2 and Blumenthal at No. 6.
Ali Hickey '21 celebrated Senior Day with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 4, while
Sophia de los Reyes '23 won by the same score at No. 5. Rounding out the singles winners was Manchanda by a 6-1, 6-0 score at No. 3.
