GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College's women's tennis team has a perfect 5-0 mark this season, and wants to make that a clean half-dozen wins as it faces Lake Forest College in the Midwest Conference championship match Friday.
 
The teams square off in Monmouth, Ill., at 3:30 p.m. Friday. Not only is the winner the league champ, but earns the MWC's automatic berth in the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
 
Of Grinnell's five wins this season against MWC South Division competition, every one has been by shutout. The Pioneers have received contributions up and down the singles lineup, with the charge being led by Ioanna Giannakou '24 (3-0 record), Sabrina Tang '23 (4-0), Irene Agusti '24 (5-0), Ali Hickey '21 (3-0), Mira Manchanda '24 (4-0), Sophia de los Reyes '23 (4-0), Emma Gaydos '22 (3-0), Mamie Sevier '23 (2-0) and Josephine Blumenthal '23 (1-0).
 
Top doubles combos have been Giannakou-Tang (5-0), de los Reyes-Hickey (3-0) and Agusti-Manchanda (3-0).
