Grinnell men's soccer team faces Ripon in MWC Tourney

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Grinnell College will battle Ripon College in a No. 2 vs. 3 matchup in the opening round of the Midwest Conference Men's Soccer Tournament Friday in Lake Forest, Ill.

Grinnell finished league play at 5-2-1 and is 9-7-1 in all games. Ripon is 4-2-2 in the MWC and 8-7-3 overall.

The contest will be at 2 p.m. and follows the 11 a.m. game featuring top-seeded host school Lake Forest College and fourth-seeded Knox College. The winners meet at 2 p.m. Saturday, with that winner advancing to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Noah Guyton '23 has sparked Grinnell's offense in league play with five goals, while Dylan Maddux '25 has four. Jaxon Willoughby is tops in assists with four, Maddux has three and Guyton two.

Carter Benson '24 has worked most of the minutes at keeper and has a 1.33 goals against average and .714 saves percentage.

Ripon's offense is led by Finley Manning with four goals and Jacob Oppeneer and Matt Hegge with two each. Eli Dietzel is tops in assists with three.

Kalan Narance has played all the minutes at keeper with a 1.50 goals against average and .831 saves percentage.
