Patrick Simms earns spot on All-MWC Men's Basketball First Team

GRINNELL, Iowa - Grinnell College's Patrick Simms '22 has been named to the All-Midwest Conference Men's Basketball First Team.

Simms ranks among the top 25 nationally in a number of categories, including free throws made (122), steals per game (2.5) and assists per game (5.7).

He leads the MWC in assists, steals, assist-turnover ratio (2.5), is second in free throws made and third in scoring average (19.2).

Simms provided a major highlight to the season when he scored Grinnell's first triple-double in 31 years. He did so with a 26-point, 11-rebound, 10-assists effort against East-West University.

The individual awards were spread between three schools, as Brad Sendell of Lawrence University was named Player of the Year, Johnny Roesser of Lake Forest College the Newcomer of the Year and Ryan Kane of Ripon as Coach of the Year. Beloit College won the Sportsmanship Award.
