GC women's tennis team loses tight 5-4 decision to Hamilton

ORLANDO, Fla. - Grinnell College's women's tennis team wound up on the short end of a hard-fought 5-4 decision against Hamilton College Tuesday afternoon at the USTA Campus.

 
Grinnell's Sabrina Tang '23, ranked 12th nationally in singles play, posted a 6-3, 6-4 victory at the top spot for her 41st career win, which ranks 18th in program history. Additionally, it was win No. 19 on the season for Tang, which is 19th on GC's all-time list.
 
Irene Agusti '24, ranked 43rd nationally, earned a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 2 singles and Ioanna Giannakou '24 won a marathon 6-4, 6-7, 10-5 at No. 4.
 
In doubles, Grinnell's win came from Giannakou and Erin Jarvis at No. 3. The score was 8-4.
 
Grinnell, 13-3 on the season, faces William Smith College on Wednesday.
