GC women's tennis team has no trouble in extending win streak against Coe

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Grinnell College had no trouble Saturday as it stretched its winning streak against Coe College to six matches in an 8-1 women's tennis victory.

 
The Pioneers, who are 12-1 overall, had double winners in Sabrina Tang '23, Irene Agusti '24, Ioanna Giannakou '24 and Emma Gaydos '22.
 
Tang and Agusti, who are both ranked regionally and nationally, sparked a Pioneer singles sweep. Tang won 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 1 spot and Agusti sailed to a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 2. Those two also teamed up to win 8-2 at No. 1 doubles.
 
Giannakou posted a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles and Gaydos was a 7-6, 6-1 winner at No. 6. Those two paired up for an 8-2 victory at No. 3 doubles.
 
Rounding out Grinnell's singles winners were Mira Manchanda '24 at No. 3 (6-0, 6-1) and Sophia de los Reyes '23 at No. 5 (6-0, 6-0).
 
The Pioneers play at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater next Saturday.
