GC strolls past Midland in battle of top-tier programs as Tang ties mark for wins in a season

FREMONT, Neb. - In a battle of women's tennis powers that had a combined 34-10 record, Grinnell College emerged a 7-2 victor over Midland University on Saturday.
 
Sabrina Tang '23 tied the school record for wins in a season with 27 as she posted a 6-0, 6-4 victory at the top singles spot. She is 12th in career singles wins with 46.
 
Grinnell also won at the No. 3 through 6 singles positions with Lily Perrin '25 (6-3, 1-6, 10-5), Erin Jarvis '25 (6-2, 6-4), Utsah Kalra '25 (6-3, 6-3) and Emma Gaydos '22 (6-2, 6-3).
 
Grinnell added doubles wins at the No. 2 and 3 spots with the duos of Jarvis-Perrin (6-2) and Sophia de los Reyes '23-Gaydos (7-5).
 
Grinnell improved to 19-6 with the win and is now just one shy of the school mark for victories in a season.
