BELOIT, Wis. - Grinnell College's track and field teams are looking to peak at the perfect time when they compete at the 2022 Midwest Conference Outdoor Championships this weekend.

Action at Beloit College's Strong Stadium Complex begins at 9 a.m. Friday with the 10,000-meter run. Competition continues Saturday with the women's hammer throw at 10:30 a.m. The final event is slated for 3:25 p.m.

Grinnell has four top-ranked performers in the conference, three on the women's side -
Sarina Kopf '22 in the pole vault,
Emma Schaefer '23 in the 5000-meter run and
Sadie Staker '24 in the 400 hurdles. Grinnell's other top-ranked performer is
Brian Goodell '24 in the men's 3000 steeplechase.

Schaefer is ranked third in the 1500 and Staker fourth in the 100 hurdles. Other highly-ranked performers in the women's division are
Aiyana Rockwell '24 (fourth in the discus),
Athena Frasca '23 (fifth in the 400), 4x400 relay team (fourth) and 4x100 relay team (fifth).

Goodell is ranked second in the men's 5000 and
Andrew Nickeson '23 is fifth.
Xavier James '25 is third in the 400 hurdles, the same rank as
Aiden Gilbert '23 in the long jump.Â

Ben Harvey '22 and Nickeson are third and fourth in the 1500, respectively, while
Zach Willis '22 and Gilbert are third and fifth in the 400.
Declan O'Reilly '22 is ranked fourth in the 800 and
Micah Cantor '25 is fifth. The Pioneers are also ranked third in the 4x400 relay.
