Roark claims title at Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Hannah Roark '26 raced to victory in the mile to lead the Grinnell College women's track and field team at the 46-team Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational.

Roark ran the race in 5 minutes, 7.78 seconds. Other top 10 finishers were Hannah Roth '27 in the 5000 (fourth in 18:26.38), Steph Kama-Kama '28 in the triple jump (fifth in 10.36 meters), Kirsten Kelly '29 in the high jump (sixth in 1.48 meters), Lily Mayo '28 in the high jump (seventh in 1.43 meters) and Brooke Kreeger '27 in the 800 (10th in 2:36.29). Kama-Kama's triple jump performance ranks seventh in GC history.

Kelly was 14th in the triple jump with a leap of 9.00 meters and the 4x100 relay team of Keelin Swisher '29, Kate Solano '29, Mayo and Rajanea Landers '28 was 16th in 50.12. That time ranks fifth in GC history.

In the long jump, Landers went 5.22 meters and Kama-Kama had a jump of 5.07. Those performances are second and fifth in GC history, respectively. Swisher's 100 time of 12.72 ranks seventh all-time at GC and Marlowe Hurst '28 threw 30.95 meters in the hammer, 10th all-time.
