Morgan Karow shatters school record in 3000 at Central Dutch Invite

PELLA, Iowa - Morgan Karow '26 shattered Grinnell College's school record in the women's 3000-meter run with a victorious performance at the Central College Dutch Invitational Saturday.

Karow won the race in 10 minutes, 23.23 seconds to beat the runner-up by more than 3 seconds. Additionally, she toppled the school record of 10:34.21 established by GC Hall of Famer Nicole Cueno in 2001.

The Pioneers had two third-place finishers, Juniper Schwartzman '27 in the javelin (36.22 meters) and Arushi Kharbanda '29 in the 5000 (18:40.52).

Grinnell had a strong showing in the 5000 with Emma Wharton-Hsieh '27 (sixth in 18:51.40), Ella McEntee '29 (eighth in 19:04.73) and Rowan Divadeenam '27 (10th in 21:32.65). In the high jump, Lily Mayo '29 and Kirsten Kelly '29 tied for ninth at 1.40 meters.

Hannah Roark '26 was 11th in the 1500 (4:55.34), Jessie Goodman '26 took 12th in the 400 hurdles (1:09.73, eighth in GC history) and 15th in the 100 hurdles (16.54, fifth all-time for the Pioneers) and Tennyson Shultz '28 in the 800 (2:25.34).

Keelin Swisher '29 ran the 200 in 26.42, which ranks eighth in GC history.
