NAPLES, Fla. - Grinnell College's women's swimmers collected two event wins in a battle against a strong Connecticut College squad on the winter break trip for both teams Monday.Â

Grinnell's champs were Camryn Gonzales '25 in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 59.27 seconds and
Sophia Carroll '25 in the 1000 freestyle in 10:59.33.Â

Gonzales added a runner-up finish in the 200 freestyle in 2:03.84 and as part of the 200 medley relay team that finished in 1:52.42.Â

Also on the 200 medley team was
Sarah Lopez '26, who swam the 13
th-fastest 400 individual medley time in program history with a clocking of 4:46.28. She was second in that event, the same placing she had in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.87.Â

Carroll added a runner-up finish in the 500 freestyle (5:26.10) and Shermak took second in the 100 freestyle (56.02).Â

Connecticut College won the meet by a score of 160-77.Â

The Pioneers return to action Jan. 20-21 at the Grinnell Invitational.Â
