GRINNELL, Iowa - Another big day at the home facility propelled the Grinnell College men's track and field team to its highest Midwest Conference Outdoor Championships finish since 1999.

The Pioneers piled up 149 points in the event at the Darren Young '93 Track and Field Complex, its highest point total at the league meet since 1993. Grinnell was outdone only by champion Ripon College's total of 193.

Brian Goodell '24 sparked Grinnell again Saturday, earning a meet three-peat by placing first in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 9 minutes, 38.08 seconds and 5000 in 15:19.95. Goodell, who also won the 10,000 on Friday, became Grinnell's first triple winner at the MWC Outdoor Championships since 2000.

Grinnell's other champ Saturday was Lucas Fadden '26, who sprinted through the 100 dash in 10.88 to beat the fastest qualifier in prelims by a hundredth of a second. Fadden also finished second in the 200 in 21.77, a personal best that remains second in program history.

Fadden joined Alex Hiser '23, John Michael Saldanha '26 and Kyler Walcher '23 to place third in the 4x100 relay in 42.83, the second-best time in program history.

Grinnell had a great showing in the 5000 besides Goodell, as Bradley Ramsey '24 was second in 15:29.62 and Andrew Nickeson '23 sixth in 15:59.28. In the 800, Andy Chestovich '26 placed second in 1:56.29, Luke Robinson '26 was third in 1:56.90 and Connor Heagy '26 placed sixth in 1:57.38.

Noah Mendola '26 and Xavier James '25 placed third and fourth in the 400 hurdles in 57.09 and 57.12, respectively. James added a fourth-place finish in the 110 hurdles in 16.80.

Saldanha took sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.63 meters, while Jack Novelle '26 was seventh in the high jump at 1.72 meters and Aiden Gilbert '23 seventh in the 400 with a time of 51.72.
