Grinnell players learn first-round foes for NCAA Division III Tennis Tournament

ORLANDO, Fla. - Grinnell College's entries for the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Tournament have learned their first-round foes for Friday's matches.

Sabrina Tang '23, a national qualifier for the second year in a row, will face top-seeded Olivia Soffer of Babson College in the first round at the USTA National Campus. Action will begin at 8 a.m. Central time. Soffer is ranked third nationally and Tang is 13th. Tang is fifth in the Central Region and Soffer No. 1 in the Northeast.

Tang and Ioanna Giannakou '24 are also in the doubles field and will battle Soffer and Babson teammate Matia Cristiani approximately 2:30 p.m. Central time. Neither duo is nationally-ranked, though Tang and Giannakou are ninth in the Central Region and Soffer and Cristiani fourth in the Northeast.

The first two rounds of singles and first round of doubles will be contested Friday.
