Grinnell men wrap up Rhodes Spring Classic with 7th-place finish

MILLINGTON, Tenn. - The Grinnell College men's golf team wrapped up the Rhodes Spring Classic with a round of 319 Monday to finish the meet in seventh place.

The Pioneers' three-round score of 946 at Mirimichi put them in a tie with Brescia University. Centre College was the champ at 886.

Thornton Walker '26 was Grinnell's top shooter Monday, shooting a 6-over-par 78 for a three-round score of 230. That gave him an 18th-place finish in the 56-golfer field.

Eshaan Sethi '25 added an 81 Monday for an overall score of 239, while Luke McCann '25 and Ian Strawn '24 each added 80s for totals of 241 and 244, respectively.

Colin Byrnes '27 fired an 85 for an overall total of 245 and Kevin Carpenter '25 recorded a 98 for a 283. The overall champ was Harrison Akers of Centre with a 221.
