GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College started quickly, but Beloit College rallied and held on during a scoreless second half to earn a 16-7 Midwest Conference football win over the Pioneers Saturday at Rosenbloom Field.
After the teams traded possessions, Grinnell gave itself an advantage by forcing a fumble that
Hugh Werner '25 recovered at the Beloit 32-yard line.
Grinnell (0-3, 0-2 MWC) then put together a seven-play drive that included key rushes by
Lucky Carton '27,

Henry Baird '25 to
Garrett Wilson '25.
Facing second-and-goal from deep in Beloit territory, Baird connected with

Beloit (1-2, 1-1 MWC) tied the game late in the first period and got a safety and touchdown in the second frame for a 16-7 halftime lead.
The Pioneers drove deep into Beloit territory numerous more times, but were kept out of the end zone.
