NEW LONDON, Conn. – Squaring off against top-flight competition that will rival the NCAA Division III Championships, Grinnell College's women's cross country team fared well – and gained valuable experience in the process – at the Connecticut College Invite Saturday.

The Pioneers were in a field consisting of no fewer than 15 nationally-ranked teams and finished 23rd of 33 in the standings, tallying 621 points and even beating a squad in the national rankings.

Leading Grinnell in the individual race consisting of more than 270 runners was Morgan Karow '26, who was 88th in the 6-kilometer event in a time of 22 minutes, 37.82 seconds. She was followed closely by Sindri Bonner '28, 95th place in 22:39.60. Bonner's time is 11th in program history.

Three other Pioneers also etched their names on the top 50 list Saturday. Lizzie Drew '29 ran 22:58.11, good for 19th all-time, Arushi Kharbanda '29 ran 23:36.05 to earn the No. 35 spot and Emma Wharton-Hsieh '27 finished in 23:42.29, moving her up to 39th.

Tennyson Shultz '28 was next for Grinnell, finishing in 24:11.20, and Talia Harrison '26 ran 24:21.15.

Second-ranked Williams College won the team title with 73 points and Audrey Maclean of Middlebury was the individual champ in 20:17.20.

Grinnell also had runners compete at the Augustana Interregional Invitational, where the Pioneers were 11th in the Blue Division with 350 points.

Noelle Vu '28 was Grinnell's top finisher in 24:12.4, good for 36th place, while Ella McEntee '29 ran 25:00.00 and Beatrice Ebel '28 recorded a time of 25:46.8. Rounding out the Pioneers' scorers were Edie Broadmoore '29 in 25:56.3 and Diana Barba '25 in 25:57.1.
