Hannah Roark punches ticket to NCAA D-III Cross Country Championships

GRINNELL, Iowa - Grinnell College's Hannah Roark '26 will extend her already-successful cross country season by another week after earning a spot in the NCAA Division III Championships.

The qualifiers were announced Sunday afternoon, one day after the Midwest Regional Championships where Roark finished 18th place. She is the Pioneers' first national qualifier since Emma Schaefer in 2021 and the program's highest regional finisher since Mikayla Fujiwara was 18th in 2018.

As a team, Grinnell had a stellar performance at regionals by placing fifth. That is their highest regional placing since 2006.

Three teams from the Midwest Regional qualified for nationals - champion Washington University in St Louis, runner-up University of Chicago and third-place Wartburg College.

Individual qualifiers besides Roark include Lidia Dahlman of Cornell College, Teah Miller, Peyton Steffen and Maddy Stevens of Central College, Keelee Leitzen of Loras College and Adriana Crabtree of Illinois Wesleyan University.

The national meet is slated for this Saturday at Roger Milliken Cross Country Course in Spartanburg, S.C. The men's race begins at 10 a.m. Eastern time, followed by the women at 11.
