CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Grinnell College's men's cross country team rose to the occasion Saturday morning, seeing six runners achieve All-Midwest Conference honors as the Pioneers raced to a runner-up finish at the league meet.

Grinnell tallied 62 points to finish behind only champion Lawrence University's total of 34 in the nine-team affair. The Pioneers were well ahead of third-place Cornell College, which had 95 points.

The Pioneers' total of six All-MWC performers is the best since 2023, when they also had six runners do so. Grinnell's runner-up team finish is one spot higher than last year.

Grinnell's
Luke Robinson '26 and
Connor Heagy '26 achieved the rare feat of being four-time All-MWC performers after they finished eighth and 20
th, respectively, in a field of 112 runners.

Robinson ran the 8-kilometer course at Seminole Valley Park in 25 minutes, 38.9 seconds. He was followed by MWC Newcomer of the Year
Jack Lakin '29 and
Ben Abelow '28, who each gained spots on the Pioneers' all-time top 50 list. Lakin was ninth in the race in 25:39.4 and Abelow ran 25:43.9, good for 10
th place. They now rank 27
th and 30
th in GC history.

Rounding out Grinnell's scorers was another first-year,
Sebastian Vilches '29. He finished in 26:15.5 to place 17
th.
Greyson Imm '28 and Heagy rounded out the Pioneers' All-MWC finishers, taking 18
th and 20
th place in 26:17.4 and 26:24.0. Next in line for the Pioneers was
Leif Dahl '29, who was 28
th in 26:51.9.

The individual champ was Cornell's Isaac VanWestrienen, who finished in 23:57.9.
