Results

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Grinnell College's women's cross country team has been impressive all season, and that trend continued Saturday afternoon.

The Pioneers collected their 22nd Midwest Conference title at the league event at Seminole Valley Park, regaining the crown they had taken from them a year ago.

Grinnell tallied 40 points to outdistance runner-up Cornell College by 11 in the nine-team field.

The title is the second in coach Sarah Burnell's career, Grinnell's third since 2019 and 11th since 2004. After the meet, Burnell and her staff Andrew Nickeson and Keegan Parrott were named MWC Coaching Staff of the Year.

Grinnell had five runners earn All-MWC honors and several put their names on, or move up, the program's all-time leader board.

Hannah Roark '26 achieved the rare feat of being a four-time All-MWC performer, finishing third in the 6-kilometer race in 21 minutes, 37.3 seconds. Morgan Karow '26 achieved All-MWC status for the third time, taking fifth place in the 94-runner field in 21:46.1. Those times rank second and third in program history, respectively.

Sindri Bonner '28 was right behind Karow, placing sixth in 21:49.7, and MWC Newcomer of the Year Lizzie Drew '29 was 11th in 22:15.0. Their times are fourth and seventh in GC history. Also earning All-MWC honors was Arushi Kharbanda '29, 15th place in 22:29.3. Her time is 10th all-time at GC.

Just missing All-MWC honors were Emma Wharton-Hsieh '27 and Talia Harrison '26, who were 21st and 22nd in 22:56.2 and 22:57.7. They also rank 21st and 22nd in Grinnell history.

Other Pioneers making the program's top 50 list were Noelle Vu '28 (24th all-time at 23:02.1), Ella McEntee '29 (34th all-time in a clocking of 23:24.8), Tennyson Shultz '28 (38th in 23:32.5), Diana Barba '26 (45th in 23:46.5) and Cindy Wang '28 (47th in 23:51.1).
