GRINNELL, Iowa – League coaches predicted a logjam in the upper half of the Midwest Conference men's soccer standings in 2025.
 
Grinnell College was picked fifth in balloting by the coaches with 42 points, but just seven points behind third-place Knox College. Ripon College was right ahead of Grinnell in fourth place with 43 points.
 
Lake Forest College was the preseason favorite with 62 points and seven first-place votes, while Illinois College was tabbed for second with 53 points and one top vote.
