WHITEWATER, Wis. – Saturday proved to be a three-peat for the Grinnell College women's tennis team.

The Pioneers claimed top honors at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Invitational for the third year in a row, piling up 48 points to beat runner-up UW-La Crosse by 12 points and the third-place host by 13.

The Pioneers won more than half of the division titles, claiming two crowns in singles and a pair in doubles.

Pari Chavan '27 was the champ at No. 1 singles and
Marta Gonzalez '29 claimed top honors at No. 3 singles. In doubles,
Nichole Henning '26 and
Anika Sheth '26 teamed up to win the crown at No. 2 and
Keira Healy '28 and
Luiza Kohn '29 were first at No. 3.

Chavan defeated foes from UW-La Crosse 6-0, 6-1 and UW-Whitewater 6-4, retired, before winning a 6-2, 5-7, 10-8 thriller over Xingchen Liu of Carthage College in the title match.

Gonzalez had little trouble at No. 3 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0 over a foe from Augustana College and 6-3, 6-1 against a UW-Whitewater player before defeating Aubrey Wittwer of UW-Eau Claire 6-2, 6-4 for first place.

Henning and Sheth beat opponents from UW-Whitewater 6-2 and Luther College 6-4 before winning the title with a 6-4 decision over Maia Samuelson and Hannah Cady of UW-La Crosse.

Healy and Kohn were victorious 6-4 over a duo from UW-La Crosse and won by retirement over a team from UW-Oshkosh, leading up to a 6-2 win over Cate Bright and Avery Schifsky of Luther.

Isa Voinescu '26 was third at No. 2 singles and
Paige Sargent '27 and
Logan Tom '29 had the same placing at No. 1 doubles.
