GRINNELL, Iowa – Saturday will feature one of the most anticipated cross country events in the region – the annual Les Duke Invitational.
 
The meet, hosted by Grinnell College, begins at 9 a.m. at the GC Golf Course. The men's 8-kilometer race is first, followed by the women's 6-kilometer event at 9:45 a.m. The starting time has been moved an hour earlier in anticipation of near-record heat.
 
Joining the Pioneers at the meet will be Clarke, Simpson, Principia, Knox, Central, Cornell, William Penn and Culver-Stockton. Central's men are ranked sixth regionally and Simpson is seventh. On the women's side, Central is fourth regionally and 26^th nationally while Cornell is sixth in the region.
