Emily Lackershire fires 6th-best score in program history to propel Pioneers at Wartburg meet

WAVERLY, Iowa - Emily Lackershire '27 recorded the sixth-best score in program history to help the Grinnell College women's golf team get out to a great start at the Wartburg Invitational.

Lackershire fired a collegiate career-best score of 2-under-par 70 at Prairie Links Golf & Events Center and is tied for first place in the 128-golfer field. She had four birdies on the day, those coming on holes 3, 7, 10 and 14.

Her efforts helped Grinnell to a team score of 310 on the opening day, good for second place and nine shots behind leader University of Dubuque in the 21-team field.

Vidushi Keni '26 is sixth place with a 74, while Waverly Yang '28 is next in line for Grinnell with a 76. That is good for 10th place.

Also for Grinnell, Amy Nguyen '26 is tied for 12th with a 77 and Meilin Hoshino '27 is 14th at 78. Kavya Keshav '26 is next in line at 81.

The meet finishes up on Sunday.
