GRINNELL, Iowa – For the second time in seven days, Grinnell College's Roger Smith '28 has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Men's Golfer of the Week.
 
Smith, from Oklahoma City, Okla. (Heritage Hall Upper School), shattered the school record for 36 holes over the weekend by recording a 139 at the Lake Forest Forester Spring Invite. He finished second in a field of 105 golfers, just one shot out of first place, while toppling the previous school mark of 142 established in 1989. Saturday's single-day round of 69 ranks eighth in program history for 18 holes.
 
His efforts helped Grinnell to seventh in the team standings with 295, the second-best 36-hole score in program history.
