Grinnell netters claim both AVCA Team Academic, Academic Honor Roll awards

GRINNELL, Iowa - For the 11th time in program history, and for the ninth season in a row, Grinnell College's volleyball squad has earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.

Programs that have a year-long grade point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale win the award.

"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."

As an added bonus, Grinnell earned a spot on the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll by ranking in the top 20 percent nationally in its division. This season marks the sixth time Grinnell has earned the honor and fourth time in a row.
