Pioneers drop 3-set match to MWC unbeaten St. Norbert

Box Score GRINNELL, Iowa – The Grinnell College volleyball team lost a three-set contest to Midwest Conference unbeaten St. Norbert College Friday night at Darby Gymnasium.

The Green Knights, who improved to 9-0 in the league and 23-7 overall, won by scores of 25-20, 25-12 and 25-14. Grinnell fell to 4-5 in the MWC and 6-21 in all matches.

The first set was close the entire way before the Green Knights slipped away for the five-point win. The visitors got out to quick leads in the next two sets en route to victory.

Cheyenne Hickox '15 and Claire Weidman '15 had eight and seven kills, respectively, for Grinnell. Hickox had a .273 attack percentage and Michelle Briggs '13 hit .286.

Weidman added 10 digs and Hickox three total blocks. Bethine Moore '13 distributed 22 assists and Lindsay Fujimoto '15 came up with 16 digs.

Grinnell closes out the regular season Saturday when Lawrence University visits Darby Gymnasium. The Senior Day event begins at 1 p.m.
