Box Score GALESBURG, Ill. – Knox College scored a goal in the ninth minute of overtime to slip past Grinnell College 2-1 in a Midwest Conference soccer contest Saturday.
The Prairie Fire, who improved to 4-0 in league play and 11-1 overall, got a goal in the 15th minute before
Joseph Brown '15 worked the ball past the Knox keeper in the 37th minute to tie the score at 1-all. It was Brown's third goal of the year.
The score remained that way until the 99th minute. With the setback, Grinnell fell to 1-3 in league play and 3-7 in all contests.
Knox won the shots battle 23-9.
Michael Hurley '16 had three of Grinnell's shots, while
Victor Ghazal '16 and Brown took two apiece.
Major May '17 made 13 saves at keeper for the Pioneers, who play at the University of Dubuque this Wednesday.
