Pioneer men's soccer team loses hard-fought battle to Dubuque

Box Score DUBUQUE, Iowa – Grinnell College's men's soccer team took traditional Iowa Conference power University of Dubuque to the limit Wednesday night before falling 1-0 in overtime.

The winners scored the game-winning goal in the fifth minute of the extra period.

Dubuque won the shots battle 16-5. Lukas Eng '15 had two of Grinnell's shots, while Joseph Brown '15, Eric Christiansen '16 and Benjamin Warner '15 had one each.

Major May '17 had three saves at keeper for Grinnell while working the first half and overtime, while Isaiah Tyree '15 had four saves in the second half.

Grinnell is now 3-8, while Dubuque improved to 3-8-1.

The Pioneers entertain Monmouth College Saturday at Springer Field. The Midwest Conference test begins at 2:30 p.m.
