Box Score GRINNELL, Iowa – St. Norbert College stayed unbeaten in Midwest Conference play Friday night with a three-set sweep of Grinnell College at Darby Gymnasium.
The Green Knights, who moved to 4-0 in the league and 10-12 overall, won by scores of 25-17, 25-12 and 25-13. Grinnell fell to 0-3 in the MWC and 5-15 in all matches.
Natalie Duncombe '15 had nine kills for the Pioneers and
Sarah Garringer '18 added six.
Margaret Giles '18 dished out 19 assists,
Lindsay Fujimoto '15 came up with 15 digs and
Rebecca Rasmussen '16 had a solo block and block assist.
The Pioneers hit just .064 on the night, while the Green Knights had a .341 efficiency.
St. Norbert shot out to a 6-1 lead in the first set. The Pioneers got as close as 7-4 on Garringer's kill before the Green Knights scored seven of the next nine points to pull away for the victory.
The second set saw Grinnell pull within 11-8 on a kill by
Liz Nelson '17 when the Green Knights reeled off 11 consecutive points on their way to the 13-point win.
St. Norbert tallied nine of the first 11 points in the third set as they secured the victory.
Grinnell is back at home again Saturday, hosting Lawrence University at 1 p.m.
