Carleton clips Grinnell men's soccer team in overtime

Box Score GRINNELL, Iowa – The Grinnell College men's soccer team fought Carleton College, a team that won the MIAC Tournament last season and advanced to the NCAA Division III National Tournament, to a scoreless draw through regulation of Sunday's contest.
 
But the Knights scored in the seventh minute of overtime to eke out a 1-0 victory at Springer Field in the season opener for both teams.
 
Grinnell's defense, and keeper Isaiah Tyree '15, had huge performances. Tyree had six saves, including many dazzling ones.
 
The Pioneers got off four shots, including two by Michael Hurley '16 and one each by Joseph Brown '15 and Nicholas Brule '17.
 
Carleton's goal was scored by Jordan Cammarota at the 97:25 mark of the contest.
 
Grinnell is back in action Wednesday, hosting the University of Dubuque at 5 p.m.
