Box Score 2 ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Grinnell College's volleyball team closed out the Viking Classic Saturday with two losses.
Host Augustana College beat the Pioneers 25-20, 25-9 and 25-18. Later, the Pioneers took the University of Wisconsin-Platteville to four sets before losing 25-18, 25-16, 22-25 and 25-22.
Olivia Fromm '17 was rewarded for stellar play all weekend by being named to the All-Tournament Team.
Fromm had nine kills against Augustana and
Emma Willhardt '19 added five.
Margaret Giles '18 added 21 assists,
Christine Hood '17 had 16 digs and
Evelyn Weidman '17 had one solo block and one assist.
Fromm had 12 kills against UW-Platteville and a .321 hitting eficiency, while
Ariel Lepito '17 added seven kills and a .389 efficiency. Giles added 26 assists, while Hood totaled 24 digs.
Sydney Vrecenar '18 and Weidman had 12 and 10 digs, respectively.
Weidman also served two aces and Willhard had two solo blocks and an assist.
Grinnell fell to 4-7 with the losses.
