Matt Lieberman '21 led the charge for the Grinnell College men's cross country team at the tough Jim Drews Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Saturday.

Lieberman ran the 8-kilometer race at Ettrick Golf Course in 26 minutes, 20.0 seconds to place 63rd of 400 runners. He was followed by
Matthew Phipps '20, who was 78th in 26:32.0, and
Andrew Nickeson '23, 130th in 27:16.5.

Rounding out Grinnell's scorers were
John Osler '20 (139th in 27:21.5) and
Ben Harvey '22 (183rd in 27:46.7). Other top performers for Grinnell were
Kody Harrison '22 (227th in 28:22.0) and
Declan O'Reilly '21 (272nd in 28:57.7).

Grinnell was 16th in the team standings with 427 points. Iowa Central Community College was the team champ with 44 points and had the individual winner in Awet Yohannes, who ran 24:41.2.

The Pioneers have next weekend off before competing in the Midwest Conference Championships on Nov. 2.
