2019 All-MWC Volleyball Team

GRINNELL, Iowa – After leading Grinnell College's volleyball team to a record-breaking season, Kaylin Kuhn '21 has earned All-Midwest Conference honors for the third time in her career and Julianna Roth '22 for the second time.
 
Kuhn repeated as a first-team selection after being a second-teamer in 2017, while Roth repeated as a second-team pick. Behind their efforts, Grinnell won a school-record 24 matches this year entering Friday's MWC Tournament.
 
Kuhn, a 5-10 outside hitter from Bettendorf, Iowa (Bettendorf), ranks second nationally in points per set with 5.46 and third in kills per set at 4.77. She is the league leader in both categories, as well as total kills (429) while ranking third in aces per set (0.49). She is fifth in program history for career kills with 1,178, becoming the fastest Pioneer to reach the 1,000-kill milestone. Kuhn is third in program history in service aces with 138 and sixth in points with 1,368.
 
Roth, a 5-10 setter from Palo Alto, Calif. (Palo Alto), ranks third in the league in assists per set and is in the top 50 nationally with 9.64. With more than two seasons yet to play, she ranks fifth in program history with 2,122 assists and became the fastest Pioneer to reach the 2,000-assist milestone. Roth is third on the team in service aces and fourth in digs.
 
Sydney Meeker of Cornell College was named MWC Player of the Year, Kristy Duncan of Illinois College landed Coach of the Year honors and Liz Maastricht of St. Norbert College was tabbed Newcomer of the Year. Knox College won the Sportsmanship Award.
