WAVERLY, Iowa – Paige Olowu '22 shattered the school record in the 60-meter dash as the Grinnell College's women's track and field team had a banner day at the Wartburg Indoor Invite Saturday.
 
Olowu sprinted the race in 8.18 seconds, beating the previous mark of 8.22 by Christine Ajinjeru set in 2014. She was 11th in the event. Olowu added a clocking of 27.10 in the 200, the third-best time in program history, as she placed 11th.
 
Grinnell fared well in the 800, as Rebecca Villa '21 was fifth in 2:26.60, Micaela Daney '22 was sixth in 2:27.80 and Ally Cottrell '21 took 10th in 2:32.10. Villa's time is eighth-best in program history.
 
Emma Schaefer '22 was sixth in the mile in 5:30.94 and Cara Keleher '21 placed 15th in 5:59.69. Julia Sloniewsky added a 10th-place finish in the 3000 in 13:15.19, while Grinnell got 13th, 14th and 15th in the 400 with Michi Soderberg '21, Francesca Dalla Betta '22 and Tali Tesar '22 in 1:07.04, 1:07.96 and 1:10.05, respectively.
 
Agne Lukoseviciute '21 continued her strong effort in the throws, placing fourth in both the shot put and weight throw with tosses of 39-1 ¾ and 49-11. The performance in the shot put ranks third in program history.
 
Sarina Kopf '22 was second in the pole vault at 10-6 ¾, the 4x400 relay team of Daney, Schaefer, Jordan Maddaus '19 and Sara Beisner '22 placed seventh in 4:42.13, Tallulah Pellisslier Lloyd' 22 was 11th in the high jump at 4-4 and Olowu placed 12th in the long jump at 15-6. Olowu's performance is tied for ninth in program history.
 
Grinnell was sixth in the team standings with 28 points. The Pioneers compete in the Midwest Conference Championships next weekend.
