Box Score 2 WAVERLY, Iowa - After suffering its first loss of the season, the Grinnell College volleyball team bounced back in a big way with a three-set sweep at the Wartburg Invitational Friday.
Grinnell rolled by Concordia College of Minnesota 25-23, 25-22 and 25-18 to improve to 10-1 on the season. This came immediately after the Pioneers opened the tourney by losing a five-set thriller to the College of St. Scholastica, as the Saints came away with a 20-25, 25-16, 23-25, 25-22 and 15-12.Â
Grinnell had three players in double-digit kills in the match with St. Scholastica, as Kaylin Kuhn '21 had 21, Rachel Woock '23 added 17 and Anna Killin '22 contributed 14 while hitting .294. Julianna Roth '22 contributed 48 assists and Payton Lowrey '22 added five aces.

In the digs department, Madison Smith '20 had 23 digs, Lowrey tallied 20, Kuhn came up with 17, Woock added 16 and Roth had 10. Kuhn and Killin had three blocks apiece.
Kuhn added 18 kills against Concordia and Woock had 14. Roth dished out 38 assists, Kuhn had three aces and
Sophia Carbajal '20 came up with two blocks. In the digs department, Lowrey had 22, Woock 13 and Kuhn and Smith 11 each.
Grinnell concludes the tournament at noon Saturday with a contest against the host Knights.
