ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – With a strong pack attack, Matt Lieberman '22 led the way for the Grinnell College men's cross country team at Saturday's Augie Invite.
 
Lieberman ran the 8-kilometer Saukie Golf Course route in 26 minutes, 34.9 seconds to place 101^st of 232 runners.  His clocking was a season-best.
 
Grinnell's next three were close behind, as Bradley Ramsey '24 was 105^th in 26:49.4, Spencer Skidmore '24 took 107^th in 26:50.9 and Brian Goodell '24 placed 111^th in 26:57.1 Rounding out Grinnell's scorers was Carter Williams '25, who was 139^th in 28:29.1. Skidmore, Goodell and Williams all had season-best times.
 
Also for Grinnell, Zeke Reilly '25 took 144^th in 28:58.2 and Kody Harrison '22 placed 133^rd in 27:57.0. Reilly and Harrison both had season-best clockings.
 
Grinnell was 19^th in the loaded field with 557 points. The champ was Wartburg College with 39, and the Knights also had the individual winner in Joe Freiburger who finished in 24:16.8.
 
Grinnell will compete in the Midwest Conference Championships Oct. 30 in Ripon, Wis.
