GRINNELL, Iowa – The Grinnell College baseball team broke four school records and tied multiple others during its 2022 campaign.

Grinnell pitchers set a new standard by striking out 18 Beloit College batters in a game and recording 263 strikeouts in a single season. The Pioneers also broke two records against Elmhurst University, RBIs in a game with 21 and being hit by seven pitches.

As a team, Grinnell tied school records for runs scored in a game (22, once against Monmouth College and once against Elmhurst) and sacrifice flies in a game (three, once against Elmhurst and again against Ripon College).

Individual marks tied were by
Matthew Inaba '22 (two triples in a game),
Ian Brown '24 and
Mac McCain '25 (two sacrifice flies in a game) and
Sean Richardson '24 (three steals in a game on two occasions.).
