GRINNELL, Iowa – Wisconsin native
Keegan Parrott joined the Grinnell College coaching staff in the fall of 2022, serving as assistant track and field and cross country coach.
Prior to Grinnell, Parrott was an assistant track and field coach at Loras College in Dubuque from 2016 to 2019. Primarily working with the jumpers, Parrott's success at Loras included coaching four school records, three national-qualifying athletes and one All-American.
While at Loras, Parrott also oversaw the strength and conditioning for sprints, jumps and middle distance student-athletes and served as instructor of record for Introduction to Nutrition.
Parrott has a master's degree in Kinesiology from the University of Northern Iowa, where he served as a volunteer coach for the Panther track and field team. Prior to UNI, he earned his bachelor's degree in dietetics as well as a certificate in environmental studies at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
A student of the sport, Parrott is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a Level 1 Sport Performance Coach from USA Weightlifting and holds a Level 1 Coaching Education from USA Track and Field.
As an athlete, Parrott spent two years competing as a Blugold for University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. He was a conference finalist in the triple jump in 2011. At UW-Madison, Parrott was a member of the Wisconsin Track Club and competed in a variety of events.
Parrott has a pet greyhound named Amos.
Grinnell also has a new volunteer assistant coach for track and field in
Paige Olowu '22, who is fresh off a starring role as a Pioneer.
An All-Region performer while at Grinnell, the Minneapolis native was a Midwest Conference champion in the outdoor long jump and 4x400-meter relay in 2022 and outdoor triple jump in 2021.
She holds three school records, in the indoor 60 dash and long jump as well as outdoor 4x100 relay. She is a program top 10 performer in multiple events, ranking second indoors in the triple jump, third in the 200, fourth in the 4x200 and eighth in the sprint medley relay. Outdoors, she is second in the 200 and triple jump, third in the long jump, seventh in the 100 and 400 and ninth in the 4x400 relay.
An economics major at Grinnell, Olowu is working full-time for the College's Title IX office in prevention and outreach.
