Brewer, Weber sweep MWC Volleyball Player of the Week honors

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College's volleyball team wrapped up the regular season by having two players sweep Midwest Conference Player of the Week honors.

Sophie Weber '25, from Carmel, Ind. (Brebeuf Jesuit Academy), was named Defensive Player of the Week and Emily Brewer '24, from Fishers, Ind. (Fishers), claimed Offensive Player of the Week accolades.

Weber averaged 7.67 digs per set during the week as Grinnell advanced to the MWC Tournament for the seventh season in a row. She posted the best and second-best match dig totals of any athlete in the MWC this season with 36 against Monmouth College and 33 versus Cornell College. Weber ranks seventh nationally with 595 total digs.

Brewer averaged 12.22 assists during the week, including a rally-score era school record of 68 in a MWC Tournament-clinching victory at Monmouth College. That assist total is also a MWC record under the current scoring format and best in all of NCAA Division III this season. Brewer's efforts helped Grinnell punch its ticket to the MWC Tourney for the seventh season in a row.
