GC men's golf team fires 3rd-best 2-day score in program history at Buena Vista meet

STORM LAKE, Iowa - Grinnell College's men's golf team posted the third-best two-day score in program history this weekend, finishing with a 611 at the Buena Vista University Fall Invite.

Grinnell followed Saturday's round of 306 with a 305 and finished fifth in the 13-team field. The 611 is the best score for the program since 2010.

Luke McCann '25 led the Pioneers with a 151 after shooting 77 on Sunday. That was good for 14th place in the 68-golfer meet.

Ian Strawn '24 and Hayden Somach '25 added 153s, with Strawn golfing a 74 on Sunday and Somach a 76. Also for Grinnell, Thornton Walker '26 had a 78 Sunday for a 155 and Eshaan Sethi '25 added an 80 for a score of 158.

Iowa Central Community College won the team title with a 591 and had the individual champ in Colby Ramsdale, who shot a 139.
