Grinnell women fare well among strong field at Roy Griak Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – With Keely Miyamoto '26 leading the way, the Grinnell College women's cross country team had a strong showing at the loaded Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota Friday.
 
Miyamoto was 30th in of 366 runners in a meet consisting of some of the top teams from the Midwest at the NCAA Division II and III levels as well as NAIA and JUCO.
 
Miyamoto ran the 6-kilometer Maroon Division race at U of M's Les Bolstad Golf Course in 23 minutes, 29.6 seconds. Following Miyamoto were Morgan Karow '26, who was 103rd in 24:56.0, and Hannah Roark '26, who placed 111th in 25:05.9.
 
Rounding out the top five for Grinnell were Crystal Kaczmarczyk '25 (139th in 25:49.4) and Diana Barba '26 (149th in 26:05.7). Also for Grinnell, Hannah Roth '27 placed 163rd in 26:28.5 and Kylie Klassen '25 was 164th in 26:33.4.
 
Grinnell was 17th in the 37-team meet with 532 points. Augustana College of South Dakota won with 80 points and Sonoma State's Gianna Bomarito claimed the individual crown in 21:44.2.
 
Grinnell is at Wartburg College's Dan Huston Invitational next Saturday.
