GC women's cross country team posts another big showing at Wartburg meet

WAVERLY, Iowa – Both Keely Miyamoto '25 and Morgan Karow '25 moved up Grinnell College's career top times chart while leading the Pioneer cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the Wartburg College Dan Huston Invitational Saturday.
 
Miyamoto placed sixth of 234 runners in the 6-kilometer race at Max Cross Country Course, running 22 minutes, 49.40 seconds. That ranks 11th all-time at Grinnell.
 
Karow placed 15th for the Pioneers in 23:50.60, which is 36th-best in Pioneer history. Rounding out Grinnell's list of scorers were Hannah Roark '25 (39th in 24:53.50), Talia Harrison '26 (43rd in 25:00.90) and Diana Barba '26 (48th in 25:19.80).
 
Also for Grinnell, Crystal Kaczmarczyk '25 was 50th in 25:25.10 and Emma Wharton-Hsieh '26 placed 51st in 25:31.50.
 
Wartburg won the meet with 31 points and had the individual champ in Lexi Brown, who ran 22:03.40.
 
The Pioneers are at the Augustana Interregional Invite Oct. 14 in Rock Island, Ill.
