2024 MWC Volleyball Tournament
MOUNT VERNON, Iowa – Six days after battling to victory in a five-set thriller against Monmouth College, Grinnell College's volleyball team will square off against the Fighting Scots again.

The Pioneers are seeded second and Monmouth third in the Midwest Conference Tournament semifinals at 4:30 p.m. Friday. Just last Saturday in Darby Gymnasium, Grinnell staved off Monmouth 26-24, 25-22, 24-26, 24-25 and 15-12.

Grinnell (20-9) leads all teams in MWC matches in kills (12.89 per set), assists (11.71) and digs (17.07) and is second in aces (2.57).
Sophie Weber '25 is tops in MWC play for digs (5.71),
Emily Brewer '25 is second in assists (7.93) and third in aces (0.67) and
Jenna Keller '25 is fourth in kills (3.70) and points (4.17).

Monmouth (19-10) ranks second in the MWC in opponent hitting percentage (.115), blocks (1.83) and digs (16.10). Paige Foltz leads the conference in blocks (1.21) and is second in hitting percentage (.397). Layne Wright and Kaylee Celus are fifth and sixth in kills (3.14 and 3.11, respectively) and points (3.86 and 3.64).

The other semifinal pits top-seeded and tourney host Cornell College (17-11) and fourth-seeded Illinois College (14-14). The semifinal winners meet at 1 p.m. Saturday for the title and spot in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
